Intial test was built using a 60w JPT MOPA with the 2.0mj top energy (c model)

Lens was a 110mm

- The test has 10 layers which consists of 9 seperate squares and 1 cleaning pass layer that encompasses all of the 9.

- To change any specific setting open up the Sq1 cut settings window and go the the setting you would like to change, make sure you change it on every subsequent window. Except Cleaning Pass.

- The initial test is set to the following numbers

Speed = 500
Power = 100
Khz is Variable= 25->65 in 5khz increments
Q-Pulse= 200 (MOPA lasers)
Bi-Directional = off
Hatch = off
Line Interval = 0.0250
Start Angle= 45 degrees
Passes = 2
Angle Increments = 45 degrees

Once all of your parameters are set up, click on frame, from there turn repeat on and I entered 20. The test will take about 20 minutes. I wanted to find out how deep I could carve in a reasonable time.

This test can be used for many different things, I did a q-pulse test once I figured out where the best power came from, which for my tests was 50khz, once I did the Q-pulse it was clear it worked best at 185. These gave me my deepest cleanest cuts. The biggest thing this gave me was the ability to figure out which cut to use for level of engraving I wanted to do on any metal. Even running it with just 1 time gives you a really good starting off point.
